Fair Mr. Ponting ?

So finally ponting came down heavily on an Indian reporter snapping at him... Acting like a wierdo asking if his integrity was being questioned ? Well the reporter backed down... getting defensive... After all he needs to earn his bread by writing... Not me... I have other sources... LOL...

So lets get down to integrity of Ponting... One could be pardoned for reading ponting and integrity as antonyms... After all in the first test Yuvi's decision was absurd... Yuvi payed away from his body... Bat was hangung in the air... Ball whizzed past the bat... Snickometer didn't pick a damn... But all close in fielders went up in unison... Clearly showing how HARD they practice cheating... No wonder McGrath claims Aussies play their game hard... And fair ? My foot...

If they were playing fair they wouldn't be appealing for the Dravid catch in the second innings or the Ganguly dismissal... Goes on to show the tactics of the Aussies... Pressurize the umpire into committing mistakes... But again this has gone on so long since nobody is interested in reining them in... So question is who will bell the cat... The best position somobody is in is BCCI... They should take up the issue strongly and get the second test result annuled... Not only that Ricky Ponting should be banned for a year and stripped off captaincy for bringing the game to disrepute... He has totally abondaned the rules of the gentleman's game and resoted to doing anything possible and at times turning the impossible in his favor to register wins... This is just not done and BCCI which generates 70% of money from cricket since me and you watch is should bring this guy to book... This is the only way some amount of credibility lost can be brought back into the game... Else we will surely be setting dangerous precedents if he is let off lightly...

Or take the case of Sachin Tendulkar... Here is a guy who tries hard to concentrate before getting down to bat listening to whatever he likes at that point for a minimum 30 minutes... As soon as he comes down to bat a bunch of a(u)ss(i)es get down to the business of breaking his concentration by talking crap on him sledging... IS THAT FAIR MR.PONTING... Mental disintegration is it... Looks like you and your bunch of jokers sure have lost your mental balance in my view...

As I write this Bhajji can play says speed... And then this clown goes on to say only ICC has the right to decide on umpires... It cannot be further questioned by any board... But in the interest of the game will have Buckner replaced by Bowden another one of those useless umpires... Anyways one clown gives way to another... Incidentally in Buckner's defence I have seen many comment that it is tough for umpires to stand 5 days and thus are prone to making mistakes... Now question is if a guy cannot stand 5 days is he worthy enough to stand in tests... Needs serious answers...

PS: Now that ICC has decided partly to agree with BCCI they should go in for the kill and see to it that the ban is revoked else we should as a policy let the whole team sit out giving the Duleep trophy chance to play the Australians since they don't deserve to play this good Indian teams... Better still we can have a Indian team of enunchs after all that is the only team in my view Ricky Ponting and his pack of wild dogs(As Peter Rebouck claims) deserve to play against... Cheers...

India v/s Australia - Sydney Second Test

The signs were ominous... In the first test Yuvraj played away from the body and hung the bat out... The ball whizzed passed the bat... No edge was noticed... Yet the bowler, wicket-keeper and ALL the closin in fielders including the slip cordon went up instantaneously appealing for a catch... Suggesting that they all had heard a nick that wasn't there... This requires tremendous practice... Although can be classified as cheating... This showed the cheaters the Australians were... Yet our team chose to keep quiet and now have paid the price by gifting the second test at Sydney...

The second tests decisions were pathetic no doubt... But we are in my opinion going over the top asking for the team to come back... Even a former player like Sidhu wants this... Having kept quiet for so long on the umpiring decisions, now to suddenly get up and say we do not want to stay back is just not done... We need to do A, B, C, etc before we can decide on abondaning a tour... So what can be done ? For starters BCCI should emphasize the cheating Australians commited and ensure that this match is declared a no-result... This would acheive 2 things... One is tell the Australian team even while they can claim a win by cheating they actually cannot... Secondly the series itself which is dead (since Australia walk away with a draw)... will be brought alive... Thus it will boost the morale of the Indian team which is again reeling under the ruling of another clown called Mike Proctor... This man however a great player he was must be debarred from officiating in a future game...

Getting back to the second innings of India it was sad to see a player of Gavasker's stature to say Indian team always in such situations folded up... When 3 of your best bats are given out wrongly the 4th the 5th and the rest will sure be under pressure of getting a wrong decision and while playing for a draw they will be battling themselves and the umpires and no way any team can handle that pressure... For me Laxman was also clearly done in... That is when the rot set in... He played forward and the off and middle stump was visible and no way was that out... But it was overlooked simply because the 2 other decisions were horrendous...

Too much has been said about Ganguly and Dravid... But then even Harsha Boghle was insisting one could't tell if Clarke had taken it clean... Fact is he couldn't tell... Taking the cue the australian clown barged in saying Clarke might have had fingers below the ball... Pathetic to say the least since the fingers were clearly visible about half way up the ball... And he rolled over and the ball touched again... There was nto sufficient time in between to say Clarke was in control of the ball... So on both counts he grassed it... Dravid for me is the ONLY guy who walks away smiling even while getting a horrendous decision and it was on display... As well as his disappointment...

Now coming back to Ganguly decisions there are clowns who justify Benson asking Ponting... Since there was an agreement at the begining of the tour that fielder's word would be final in a close catch call... But fact is Ponting himself broke that code when he grassed a ball off the pad and appealed for a catch !!! So from there on that option was not available and clearly since the umpire did not know and asked ponting he should have gone to Buckner and then the 3rd umpire... CLEARLY HE DID NOT ASK BUCKER FOR HIS OPINION... This meant that he made a wrong judgement...

With Dravid again the cheating aspect came into the open... When the ball hits the pad the sound is different and again the bowler and the wicket-keeper clearly knows it... But the fact that they chose to appeal makes them cheats clearly... High time these guys pay for the cheating ways they adopt to win matches... Rather than doing this poor Bhajji is penalized on the words of 2 cheats even while 2 who claimed they would give evidence backed away saying they did not hear bhajji... Now clearly in the frame there is Sachin, there is Bhajji, there is Symonds and there is Hayden... Yet Clarke claims to have heard bhajji even while he wasn't there and Sachin did not hear... And later Ponting has the audacity to claim nobody question his integrity...

Now aside all this to make things lighter I could'nt stop laughing when I saw the best of 2007 best debates... Kiran More was busy defending Raina saying he played only 20 matches and did not get enough chances... When the anchor asked if 20 matches was not sufficent he claimed no... and added further that if he had played 35-40 matches he would have become a permamnent ficture in the indian team replacing Ganguly... And further stated that even in the 20 he played he had scored over 700 runs... Now this guy is another clown not knowing what he is talking about... We need to call his bluff here... since stats show Suresh Raina indeed played 36 one-day matches !!! He scored 612 (Not over 700 as the clown claimed) at a pathetic average of 26.60... He scored just 3 50s and no 100s !!! This guy is the one supposed to have replace Ganguly !!! LOL !!!

Now coming to Test 3 at Perth... I would like to see 3 changes...

1. Karthik comes in for Dhoni... Impossible to see...
2. Sehwag in for Jaffer... Highly likely....
3. Pathan in for Yuvraj... A Toss up...

But what might come through instead of is Ishant making way for Pathan which again would signal bad reading of the situation since Perth is a quick wicket and Ishant who is quite quick can make some inroads into the australian batting... Incidentally we have only one bowling matchwinner in Kumble and winning at Perth with him is next to impossible... But hopefully the Sydney test would have provided enough gun powder for Kumble's to take on the cheats... Cheers...
